Hi, we’re Jenny and John and we’ve owned Beech Tree Farm for over 30 years.
We love our corner of Dartmoor National Park where we rear Ruby Red suckler cows and sheep. Over the years we have developed this beautiful land, building a farmhouse, log cabin, stables, extensive vegetable garden and now a campsite. We enjoy spending time with our family around the campfire and eating great food, which is why we wanted to create an idyllic spot for other families and friends to enjoy. Come and escape the daily grind, slow down and immerse yourself in nature. We hope you enjoy your stay!
The Surrounding Area
The site is very private with good access off a rural lane just 10 minutes from the picturesque town of Moretonhampstead and 30 minutes from the bustling city of Exeter.
Nearby is the wonderful landmark Blackingstone Rock, which is easily reached and climbed with 360 degrees views over the far-reaching countryside. With Dartmoor to the south and Exmoor in the far North, it is a truly wonderful spot to experience the Sunrise or Sunset.
One mile down the lane are three reservoirs/lakes, one for fly fishermen only (booked at Southwest Lakes) AND the other two for course fishing and peaceful walks around their perimeters.
The high moor of Dartmoor is only a few miles away with endless Tors to visit and walks for all abilities. There are many places to enjoy wild swimming, horse riding and many other outdoor activities. The local town of Moretonhampstead provides all the usual amenities and also boasts a beautiful open-air swimming pool.
With beautiful beaches just a short drive away, we recommend the wonderful seaside towns of Teignmouth, Dawlish, Sidmouth and Exmouth (Voted Best Fish and Chips in the U.K).

Really lovely quiet campsite on Dartmoor. Loads of space to pitch tents, the toilets and showers were clean and well kept. The communal mess tent is a welcome addition, gave the kids more space to enjoy. The owners are welcoming and friendly, keen to help. So much beautiful wilderness to explore, beautiful woods, reservoirs and rivers all around.Posted on Google![]()

Just had an absolutely brilliant stay, we had 8 tents of families staying for a 50th birthday, whole site to ourselves, Well looked after tidy site, showers were clean and hot, toilets were clean and tidy. Dishwashing area on side of shower building Added bonus was the 1950 Army mess tent to use for gatherings or wet weather Also a fire pit to use. Huge field with plenty of space for games Lovey scenic local area with reservoirs in walking distance. We will definitely be going backPosted on Google![]()

Best campsite in the UK! Stayed here for 3 days. Owners are the most kindest loveliest people you will ever meet, campsite was beautiful and quiet, had all the facilities you could ask for, showers, toilets cooking and washing station and everything was absolutely spotless! Views from the tent was breathtaking and walking distance from kennick tottiford and trenchford resovior, 3 massive lakes in a huge forest. Brilliant for fishing or even just a nice scenic walk you will not get better views and all kinds of fish in there some absolute monsters too. Whole trip honestly didnt feel real was like being in heaven for me highly recommend and will definitely be back again soon!Posted on Google![]()

Incredible place, so special. It's quite with excellent facilities. Nature all around you. Ideal base for exploring Dartmoor. When searching for it on Google just use the postcode not the whole address.Posted on Google![]()
